“I could not run ahead of God’s plan. He had to ‘bless’ me with an injury. Shutting me up. Calming me down. that I could listen and know that now was not my time.”
– Angelo Davids
“Sometimes I wish that I had really made the Lord a part of my life earlier, because it might have made things a little easier. But He waits for your heart to be ready and then He receives you with open arms…”
– Arune Weyers
“…I wanted to know and understand why I called myself a Christian. I wanted to know who Jesus is and what the purpose of the Holy Spirit is…”
– Thomas du Toit
“Today I am here to testify and tell my story. I can declare: ‘I am Duane Vermeulen, and I am a child of God. Without Him, nothing is possible.”
– Duane Vermeulen
“When such a storm rages in and around you, you often doubt your decisions, but for me it was the only way out. I now realise that, with God’s help, I made the right choices for my self-preservation, even if it was very difficult for others to accept…”
– Swys de Bruin
“Everyone knows success in their own way. Some people’s success is in the public eye, and is noticed, others’ not. That is why it is important to treat everyone the same, show respect, afford everyone enough time, and not be judgemental.”
– Schalk Brits
“God uses everything to prepare you for your next season. He had to take away my comfortable lifestyle, with a fixed rugby contract, and put me in a place of total dependence on Him to get my attention. I needed to hear His voice again and give my faith the chance to change my perception…”
– Sandile “Stix” Ngcobo

About God in sport
GIS is a platform where sport, faith and a relationship with God traverse and become one. Once we realize that everything we do is for the glory of God, the attitude and mindset will change. And in the end, the actions and outcome will also look different.
God is not looking for perfect people. He is looking for surrendered people to inspire others by how they deal with their imperfections.
This site with all the real life stories is for every person who at one time or another doubted himself/herself and doubted the grace of a living God.
